Inland tanker Oneri chooses lubricants from OK Marine

For the past 5 months, the Last brothers have been busy preparing their inland tanker the ‘Oneri’ (Italian for ‘loads’) for sailing. With a width of 17.5 meters, a length of no less than 135 meters and 12 cargo tanks, the Oneri offers space for 9 million liters of mineral oils (including fuel oil). The Oneri is equipped to bunker seagoing vessels, sails in the Amsterdam – Rotterdam – Antwerp sailing area and can in principle pump up to about 1,000,000 liters per hour.

Oneri

The Oneri will sail 24/7, brothers Stephan and Frank Last week on, week off. Here they are supported by three permanent sailors. In addition to the enormous cargo space, powerful pumps, multiple engine rooms and an advanced wheelhouse, the Oneri has several separate and fully furnished living quarters. As a result, both skippers and sailors have sufficient privacy and are equipped with every convenience to make their stay as pleasant as possible.

For any inland tanker, and especially for such a special ship as the Oneri, it is very important that the right lubricants are used, both for the engine, pumps and all other installations on board the ship. To ensure this, the Last brothers chose OK Marine as their supplier of thermal oil, hydraulic oil and engine oil. Here we looked at the required specifications, the actual application, but also the cost.
